Easy Cinnamon & Maple Syrup Apples
These cinnamon apples taste like a warm apple pie, but they are easy to make in just 15 minutes. The caramelised apples make the perfect topping to overnight oats, french toasts or pancakes.
Substitutes?
- No butter? Use coconut oil instead.
- No cinnamon? Use mixed spice instead.
- No water? Use apple cider instead.

Ingredients:
2 apples
20 g vegan butter
5 tbsp water
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp maple syrup
Recipe:
- Cut apples into same-sized small pieces.
- Put apple pieces into a pan with vegan butter, cinnamon and water. Cover the pan and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples become slightly soft and water is absorbed.
- Add the maple syrup and cook uncovered for another 5 minutes, stirring every minute or so, until the apples become soft and you have a maple caramel sauce.
- Remove from heat and serve.
How to store
Store in an airtight container, in the fridge, for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
