Ingredients:
70 g chard (roughly chopped)
1½ tbsp olive oil
a pinch of salt
½ tsp garlic powder
2 slices of bread
25 g Gruyère cheese (grated)
1 tbsp unsalted butter
Recipe:
Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Add the chard and season with garlic powder and a pinch of salt. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until wilted. Remove the chard from the pan and set aside, but keep the pan on the heat.
Melt the butter in the pan. Drizzle the bread slices with the remaining olive oil and add to the pan. Top one of the bread slices with the chard and then the grated cheese. Pop the other slice of bread on top to close the sandwich, and press down with a spatula.
Add a splash of water to the pan and cover with a lid - this creates steam, which will help the cheese melt. Cook over a low heat for 30 seconds, or until the cheese has melted.
Take the toastie out of the pan and cut it in half. Enjoy hot, on its own or with a side of salad.
